2020/21 Membership renewal
It’s that time of year for everyone who joined the club before January 2020 to renew your Mickleover Running Club membership.

The MRC membership runs from 1st April to 31st March, each year - which is in line with England Athletics membership renewal process.

If you only joined the club in 2020 you needn’t worry - both MRC and the EA give you the first part of this year as a bonus, your first renewal won’t be until next year!

This year the cost of renewing will be just £32 for first claim (EA affiliated) members and £16 for second claim/non-competing memberships, a Brexit defying increase of just £1 on 2019/20 rates.

The additional benefits of being an EA affiliated member include discounted entry to races, eligibility to enter the ballot for the MRC London marathon place(s) and entry to the prestigious Mickleover Running Club Championships!

Please also take the opportunity to update us on any changes to your details (address, email, emergency contact etc.) as you complete the renewals form.

Thank you for all of your support over the last 12 months, we are looking forward to another great year of running with you all!

Social Committee
Clive did a sterling job organising the events over the last couple of years but has decided it’s time to hand over to someone else.

We have set up a small Social Committee so that the ‘load is shared’ who can plan and organise any future events – as a club you get to enjoy them organising the Christmas Party, Family BBQ’s, trail running events, and anything else they can think of!!

If you have any idea's please chat to Nic Dolman, Beckie Yates, Dai Cox, Sarah Bartley & Rob Humber.

Running the Wainwrights
Last year Paul Tierney attempted to summit all of the Wainwrights in the Lake District and break the record held by Steve Birkinshaw.

It involved visiting all 214 summits of the peaks (or Wainwrights) described by Alfred Wainwright in his famous Pictorial Guide to the Lakeland Fells.

All but one of the Wainwrights stand at over 1,000 feet (with the highest at over 3,000 feet).

In terms of distance it’s 318 miles, with over 118,000 feet of ascent, over some of the roughest Lake District terrain. Watch the story here...
